Track star Jessier Soriano ‘22 ends his Winter Track career with some very notable achievements which include being named Track and Field Athlete of the Week, breaking a 13-year Passaic Valley record, and making 1st team All-Conference for both the 800m and the 4x400m.

Girls Basketball Starts Season Off Strong
Led by Head Coach Marc Salvatore, Assistant Coach Michael Couden, and Team Captain Kayla Price ‘22, the Hornets were ranked 4th in the Big North Conference as of January 25th. The girls have scored a total of 491 points, with lead scorer Janesy Ruiz ‘23 securing 149 points.

Boys Winter Track Team Finishes Season with Two Championships and Coach of the Year Honors
For the first time in Passaic Valley history, the Boys Winter Track Team took home both the Boys Independence League Championship and the County Championship. For his leadership during such a successful season, Coach Joel Thornton was named Big North & Passaic County Coach of the Year.

Boys Basketball Finishes Tremendous Season with Conference Title
The Boys Basketball team finished their season with a 12-3 record as Big North Independence Division Champions. The Hornets defeated Wayne Valley 47-46 in overtime on March 6 to force a three-way tie with Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills their first division title in eight years.

Girls Cross Country Wins Big North Conference for the First Time Since 1996
On November 2nd, the Girls Cross Country Team took home the Big North Conference Championship for the first time in twenty-four years. The team raced against Wayne Valley, East Side High School, and John F. Kennedy High School, defeating them and winning the elusive league champion title.

On February 13, Taylor Hill scored her 1,000th point as a Hornet in a home game against West Milford. Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Marc Salvatore originally planned to honor this incredible achievement at the end-of-year Basketball Dinner. When this was cancelled, Coach Salvatore got creative.

Mr. Max Wassel Takes Over as Head Football Coach
Mr. Max Wassel will take over as the Head Football Coach following the retirement of Coach Chet Parlavecchio. Coach Wassel has plenty of coaching experience, including coaching the Freshmen Football Team in 2017 and serving as Assistant Football Coach for the past two years.
