On the night of February 20th, the PVCG Hockey team went against Clifton, who they had already defeated twice before. “Going into the game we knew exactly what he had to do and we just executed accordingly,” said senior Goalie Nicholas DiNardo, who recorded 14 saves in the shutout. Kyle McCarthy ‘20 and Cedar Grove’s Sam Giuffrida each scored goals and Cedar Grove’s Matthew O’Donnell recorded an assist.

However, this year’s win came with the help of an energetic crowd cheering on their players. “It reflects the spirit of our team and of PV, not only the fact that we won, but the fact that we had an insane crowd of kids come support us.” added DiNardo. “That's what PV is all about.”

The PVCG Hockey Team has created a strong bond since their merger as a co-op in 2012 and this chemistry showed out on the ice. “I'll miss my teammates the most,” said DiNardo. “You create such a bond with the kids over the year and I call a good amount of them my best friends.”
