The Counseling Department is a comprehensive and innovative center which provides students in grades 9 through 12 with academic, social/emotional, career and post-secondary counseling. The department consists of a director, five school counselors, one SAC, and two administrative assistants. School counseling is an essential part of the educational process. In order to promote a successful transition from middle school to high school, Passaic Valley Regional assigns all 9th grade students to one counselor promoting self-advocacy, accountability, and independence. Upon entering grade 10, counselors will be re-assigned for the duration of their time at PV.  We have created a welcoming space for our students and encourage all students to get to know their counselors and become productive, contributing members of our school and community.

As educators, we know that communication is key to a student's success in school. School counselors advocate, mediate, coordinate, consult, and collaborate with teachers, administrators and families. Our counselors are always available to meet with families and discuss individual needs.
